Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the entrance fee?

Pala Lagoon Swimming Center charges $5 per person for all people aged 2 years and older; including chaperones and those not swimming.

Any discounts for groups or families?

Yes! Ask the folks at the front desk about monthly and yearly memberships. We can even work with your business to create a plan for all of your employees.

What should I wear?

Acceptable swimwear includes:

Children under the age of 2 (or any child not toilet trained) must wear a swim diaper. We sell these at the front desk for $2 each.

We do not allow swimmers to wear:

Everyone must rinse off before entering the pool to avoid carrying dirt, bodily secretions, bacteria or residue from hygiene products into the swimming pools.

Why is it important to wear proper swimming attire?

Regular street clothes (especially those made of cotton) can transport air and waterborne contaminants to the swimming pools. Absorbent materials such as cotton can break down in the water. These fibers can clog pool filters leading to expensive repairs. Any colored or dyed materials like lavalava can bleed into the pool affecting the water chemistry.

Why does the staff ask me to tie my hair?

It can clog the pool filters. All long hair must be tied up at all times, if very long hair should be braided. This helps us keep the pool clean and avoids expensive repairs.

Can I bring food into the pool area?

No plated food is allowed in the pool area. This icludes takeout plates, pizza, burgers, etc. Currently, we accept snacks and water, juices, and sodas which can be consumed in the dedicated areas/benches. Eating and drinking in the swimming pools is not allowed.

Note: Our snack bar & restaurant will be open soon to provide food, snacks, drinks, etc. Once this is open, no outdoor food or drinks will be allowed on the premises.

Can I set up a tent?

You are welcome to put a tent up outside the fenced pool area. There is a charge of $150 per tent (tents are at your own expense), maximum size 20 x 40. Please call the front office on 699 6940 (during opening times) to arrange booking and payment.

Can I hold a special event at the pool?

Yes! Please contact us on email at palalagoonswim@gmail.com with your event information.
